Engine
The scooter is equipped with 154.4 cc air cooled engine. According to the company, it produces an output of 10.4 BHP at 6750 rpm. It generates 11.4Nm at 5000 rpm. The engine is mated to an automatic gearbox. This is obviously designed to save the rider from the hassle of having to manually shift gears.
In terms of performance, Aprilia SR 150 can easily cross 100 km/ph. However, touching a 3-digit speed may not be the most effortless thing considering the conditions of most India roads.
The scooter weighs only 122 kg which makes it ideal for practically all kinds of riders.
Frame and Suspension
Aprilia SR 150 is built on a steel frame. That means it should provide a fair amount of stability both to the rider and pillion. The front relies on telescopic forks of 32mm while the rear has been given a single arm shock absorber. The overall setup is stiff which gives a fair amount of control over the vehicle in all kinds of driving conditions.
Tires, Alloy Wheels, and Braking
The makers of Aprilia SR 150 have given it 14-inch alloy wheels. The 5-spoke black alloy wheels with 120/70 tires wrapped to them is an attractive feature in this scooter. This feature is something that is missing even in some higher segment vehicles. The alloy wheels should provide for a finer grip and better control while riding on sharp corners and highways.
In terms of braking, Aprilia comes with a 220mm front disc brakes that means the scooter should be able to apply the brakes more speedily and effortlessly than most bikes in this segment. The rear brake sits at 140mm drum unit which is considerably larger than most Indian scooters that generally come with 110mm rear brake unit.
